Film World Getting More "Creepy" and "Eerie"

Warren Comics' classic "Creepy" magazine and its spin-off "Eerie" are being developed into film properties by New York-based Submarine Entertainment and Grand Canal Film Works.

Submarine's Dan Braun said theatricals are a likely platform but wouldn't rule out a TV series or digital media.

"We're basically looking at this as a re-launching of the brand," he said.

The deal ends seven years of negotiations with copyright holder Jim "Famous Monsters Of Filmland" Warren, who re-secured the rights to "Creepy" and "Eerie" after a legal battle with Harris Publishing.

Submarine and Grand Canal will form the New Comic Co., to oversee development and production of the projects.
