"The Indian film industry, as you know, is the largest film industry in the world. We want to reach out to audiences overseas," Bachchan said.
Premise of "Guru" focuses on the life of a poor villager who rises to become one of the most successful business figures in the country.
Bachchan plays rags-to-riches industrialist 'Gurukant Desai' with Rai as his wife 'Sujatha'.
Directed by Mani Ratnam, "Guru" opened worldwide January 12.
