"Star Wars" Invades Pasadena

The 118th Rose Parade, held January 1 in Pasadena, California began with a flyover by an Air Force B-2 stealth bomber before the start of a "Star Wars Spectacular," celebrating the 1977 release of the first feature in the 20th Century Fox film franchise.

Approximately 200 'stormtroopers' led by 'Darth Vader' marched down Colorado Boulevard while 'Ewoks' swung from trees and Parade 'Grand Marshal' George Lucas rode in a 1911 Pope-Hartford, Model Y.
