Warners Swings With del Toros' "Tarzan"

According to reports, Warner Brothers are negotiating with director Guillermo "Hellboy" del Toro to create a new big screen version of author Edgar Rice Burroughs' "Tarzan".

John "Happy Feet" Collee will write the screenplay based on Burroughs' "Tarzan Of The Apes" novel.

Del Toro grew up reading Spanish-language translations of "Tarzan" and says the character is still compelling, with new ground to cover by turning back to Burroughs' original prose.
