Adaptation of the story is by screenwriter Megan "Sunshine Cleaning" Holley.
The film is intended to be "a dark, elevated psychological thriller in the vein of "The Shining"," with Holley's take creating new characters and story points.
Dunst will play a woman studying in London who begins a relationship with a professor, before she becomes haunted by 'demons'.
