For the 35th comic book anniversary of the character 'Red Sonja', comes the story of "Animals", with 'Kulan Gath' in control of the land.
The original pulp magazine character 'Red Sonya' was created in the 1930's by author Robert E. Howard of "Conan" fame, focusing on the adventures of a female Russian warrior from the 16th Century.
In 1971, Marvel Comics adapted the character for a series of "Conan" comic book adventures, written by Roy Thomas and drawn by Barry Windsor-Smith, changing the character's name to "Red Sonja" and making her a contemporary of the Conan character.In the 1980's, a "Red Sonja" movie starring actress Brigitte Nielson, directed by Richard Fleischer, was released by MGM.
