Eastwood Takes On Japanese Soldiers

The 'companion' film to director Clint Eastwood's Warners/DreamWorks feature "Flags of Our Fathers" is the Japanese-language "Letters from Iwo Jima", to be released in Japan, Dec. 9, 2006.

The film will show the Japanese POV of the World War II conflict, effectively putting the viewer into the shoes of 'the enemy'.

Premise of the movie recalls writer Rod Serling's 1961 "Twilight Zone" episode (#15) "A Quality Of Mercy", where a battle-weary American GI suddenly becomes 'Lt. Yamuri', a Japanese soldier serving under a ruthless Captain.
