'Griffin Mill' Is Back In "The Return of the Player"

Author Michael Tolkin's "The Return of the Player" is a follow-up to his novel "The Player", previously adapted to the big screen by director Robert Altman.

Actor Tim Robbins, who played studio executive 'Griffin Mill' in the first film, is reportedly interested in reprising his role for a big screen sequel, also to be scripted by Tolkin.

In the first book, Mill kills an arrogant scriptwriter he mistakenly suspected was threatening him for a film deal, then starts sleeping with the dead man's girlfriend.

In "The Return Of The Player", Mill is "down to his last six million dollars", gets involved in a get-rich quick scheme, is divorced from his victim's ex, remarried to a woman wanting another divorce, father to three children, sexually impotent, anxious about his future and increasingly bitter towards Hollywood.
