Gerard "Beowulf" Butler is in negotiations to star as a warrior priest who hunts down vampires in the upcoming Screen Gems comic book-to-film adaptation, "Priest".Director Andrew "The Amityville Horror" Douglas has signed on to helm the horror feature, based on the comic book by Min-Woo Hyung.
Sony Pictures will distribute the film, scheduled to start October 1 in Mexico.
Premise of the film focuses on a priest who disobeys church law by teaming with a young sheriff and a priestess to track down a band of renegade vampires who have kidnapped the priest's niece.
