Hard Core Heist Turns Up The "Heat" ...

May 10, 2006

Actors Al Pacino, Robert De Niro are in discussions to contribute their character voices/likeness from director Michael Mann's 1992 cop/gangster thriller Heat for a video game spin-off.

The game will offer single-player/multiplayer first-person shooter action, targeted for next-generation consoles, late 2007.

Heat film producers Regency Entertainment, Titan Prods. and game developer Gearbox are all involved in the project.

The game will either be a prequel/or sequel to the film, said Titan's Brad Foxhoven. If it is a sequel, De Niro will appear in flashback since his bank robber character was killed in the film.

"There is something about this concept that I call 'hard core heist'," said Gearbox president Randy Pitchford.
