New “Baywatch” Makes A Splash

“Baywatch”, the 1991 Fremantle ‘jiggle-TV’ life guard beach series, originally reaching more than a billion weekly viewers in 200 countries, over 11 seasons, is being rebooted by Fox television, to air in 2027, starring Stephen Amell (“Arrow”) as ‘Hobie  Buchanan’, the son of original series character “Mitch Buchanan’ (David Hasselhoff), with new bikini-clad girls including actress Brooks Nader, that makes original series co-star Pam Anderson look like chopped liver:

"There's only one Baywatch. It's one of the most iconic, popular television franchises in TV history”, said Michael Thorn, President of the Fox broadcast channel.

“…’Hobie Buchannon’ (Amell), a ‘Baywatch Captain’, is following in the footsteps of his father, ‘Mitch’. But when his daughter, ‘Charlie Vale’ (Jessica Belkin), shows up on his doorstep, his world is turned upside down.

Cast also includes Noah Beck, Shay Mitchell, Thaddeus LaGrone, Livvy Dunne and Hassie Harrison, with Erika Eleniak and David Chokachi, returning from the original series.
