Kino Lorber's “MHz Choice”, a streaming service for international dramas/mysteries, has acquired North American rights for a new 8-episode, live-action, France-produced adaptation of the masked vigilante “Zorro”, filmed entirely in Spain, under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Saurel and Emilie Noblet, starring Oscar winner Jean Dujardin (“The Artist”), debuting June 30th, 2026:
"This new version of Zorro was conceived in the tradition of swashbuckling films and French vaudeville,” said producer Marc Dujardin.
“The result is a delightful blend of spectacular action and romantic comedy.
“We are absolutely thrilled that our version of Zorro can be discovered by American audiences.
“Although he is a hero who has always been at the crossroads of diverse cultural and historical references…
“…he was born in the mind of an American author who loved California: Johnston McCulley."
