Fleischer Studios’ 1936 “Popeye” theatrical cartoon short “Brotherly Love” was directed by Dave Fleischer and Seymour Kneitel, starring Jack Mercer as ‘Popeye’ and Mae Questel as ‘Olive’:

“…in another classuc example of FAFO, ‘Popeye’ , sitting in a Bowery cafe, listens to a ‘BLAH’ radio broadcast from the ‘Women's Brotherly Love Society’, led by ‘Olive Oyl’.

“Her positive song, inspires Popeye, as he struts along the street, singing ‘Brotherly Love’, while helping people along the way…

“…until he ‘can’t stands no more’…”
