DC Takes Aim @ "Human Target" - November 2010

Written by Len Wein and illustrated by Bruno Redondo with a cover by Lee Bermejo, DC Comics 6-issue mini-series "Human Target" is based on the Vancouver-lensed series from Warner Bros. TV.

The new comic book series was first released February 10, written by Len Wein and Peter Johnson, with art by Bruno Redondo, Sergio Sandoval, Chris Sprouse, Karl Story and a cover by Lee Bermejo.

"...After 'Christopher Chance' is hired to protect a highly placed informant and collect evidence around Europe, every assassin and goon from Paris to Prague starts aiming for the Human Target..."

The Fox TV series, returning September 3 for a second season, is executive produced by Jonathan Steinberg and Matt Miller ("Chuck").

"'Christopher Chance' is a unique private contractor/security expert/bodyguard hired when an unusual or imminent threat cannot be solved through normal means of protection. "Human Target" stars Mark "Boston Legal" Valley as the DC Comics character, created in 1972, by Wein and illustrator Carmine Infantino, following detective/bodyguard 'Christopher Chance' who impersonates clients to eliminate threats, becoming the 'human target'.

Writer Peter Milligan and illustrator Edvin Biukovic revived the character in 1999 for a four-issue limited series followed by the graphic novel "Human Target: Final Cut", an ongoing series that lasted 21 issues.

Showcase Mounts "Lost Girl"

Sneak Peek the latest key art supporting the Toronto-lensed 'fantasy-noir' TV series "Lost Girl", debuting September 12 on Canada's Showcase network.

Produced by Prodigy Pictures, in association with Canwest Broadcasting, "Lost Girl" filmed 13 one-hour episodes in Toronto and Hamilton.

"'Lost Girl' follows supernatural seductress 'Bo' (Anna Silk), a 'Succubus' who feeds on the sexual energy of mortals. Growing up with human parents, Bo had no reason to believe she was anything other than the girl next door – until she drained her boyfriend to death in their first sexual encounter. Now she has hit the road alone and afraid. She discovers she is one of the Fae, creatures of legend and folklore, who pass as humans while feeding off them in secret, as they have for millennia. Relieved yet horrified to find out that she is not alone, Bo decides to take the middle path between the humans and the Fae while embarking on a personal mission to unlock the secrets of her origin.

"Bo's succubus nature tangles her in a sexy, romantic love-triangle with 'Dyson' (Kris Holden-Reid), a shape-shifting homicide detective, and 'Lauren' (Zoie Palmer), a human doctor who has found a way through science to help give Bo the sexual self-control she's been aching for. Navigating this complicated life with Bo is her human confidante and street-smart survivor, 'Kenzi' (Ksenia Solo)."

A companion website for the series is being produced and will launch with the show to give viewers "an unprecedented, interactive experience".
