Michael Fassbender: The Next 'James Bond' ?



Oscar-nominated actor Michael Fassbender ("12 Years A Slave"), at 39-years old, has the looks, chops and killer instinct to play the next big screen 'James Bond', now that dog-faced Daniel Craig has officially left the '007' movie franchise:


"To be honest with you", said Fassbender, "I think they should reboot the 'James Bond' series and go back to his origins as a soldier.


"I’ve got a great idea for it actually, so (producer) Barbara Broccoli talk to me..."


The stage-trained actor's feature film debut was the fantasy war epic "300" (2007), playing a 'Spartan' warrior.


Prior to that, he appeared in the HBO TV miniseries "Band of Brothers" (2001) and the Sky One fantasy drama "Hex" (2004–05).



He first came to prominence as 'IRA' activist 'Bobby Sands' in "Hunger" (2008), winning a 'British Independent Film Award'.


Subsequent roles his 'Royal Marines' lieutenant in "Inglourious Basterds" (2009)...



...as 'Edward Rochester' in the 2011 film adaptation of "Jane Eyre"...



...as 'Carl Jung' in "A Dangerous Method" (2011)...



...and as a sentient android in Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" (2012)...


In 2011, Fassbender debuted as Marvel Comics super anti-hero 'Magneto' in "X-Men: First Class", reprising the role in "X-Men: Days of Future Past" (2014), and "X-Men: Apocalypse" (2016).


In 2013, Fassbender's role as 'Edwin Epps' in "12 Years a Slave" earned him his first 'Oscar' nomination for 'Best Supporting Actor'.


In 2013, Fassbender appeared in Ridley Scott's "The Counselor".


In 2015, he portrayed 'Steve Jobs' in director Danny Boyle's biopic of the same name...


...followed by the role of 'Macbeth' in director Justin Kurzel's adaptation of William Shakespeare's play, receiving 'Academy Award', 'BAFTA', 'Golden Globe' and 'SAG' nominations.


Fassbender co-produced and will soon be seen in "Assassin's Creed".
